Poverty, in the case of Ashleigh, is mental health issue in that it is a source of stress for her. As it has been identified in the case study, Ashleigh does not have sufficient income or money to meet her life demands. This definition is a typical denotation of what poverty refers to, at least according to Fortinash and Worret (2014). As a result of Ashleigh’s poverty, she has to make difficult decisions for different dilemmatic decisions. Apparently, selecting one option and leaving the other creates an even greater quandary. For example, she selects to spend her vacation to find a new apartment. The consequent issue is that she has to commute far from work and has to keep up with the few friends she has made. What this shows is that Ashleigh’s poverty is the onset of a vicious cycle of mental challenges including stress. In this
