Choose an organizational change model for EBP and discuss how this model could be implemented in your practice area. ? Consider the following. ? Barriers needing to be overcome ? strategies to promote EBP AND

The tremendous increase in research and the improved accessibility to research findings and materials have influenced clinical work, resulting into a paradigm shift from the intuition-based practice to evidence-based practice. Consequently, a several models have been developed to guide practitioners in utilization of research findings and materials. Despite this, most practitioners, health institutions and health administration as well have faced difficulties in synthesizing contextual as well as empirical research evidence and integrating it to their practice. In particular, the question of the right model to use and implement in clinical practice has bothered many practitioners and institutions, despite the fact that EBP has become a major strategy for improving healthcare provided to communities.
In this case, I have chosen the ACE Star Model as a strategy for facilitating the implementation of research findings in my nursing practice.
The ACE Star Model of Knowledge Transformation (ACE Star Model) was developed at the Academic center for Evidence Based Practice (ACE) as strategy for transferring knowledge from research to practice in nursing and healthcare with the aim of improving quality (Stevens, Puga & Low, 2012). It seeks to address both the translation and the implementation of EBP in practice (Stevens, Puga & Low, 2012). In simple terms, the model follows five steps:
i. Discovering new knowledge
ii. Summarizing evidence from a vigorous review process
iii. Translating evidence for clinical practice
iv. Integrating the recommended change into the nursing and clinical practice
v. Evaluating the impact of the change and its contributions to the quality of care
The model focuses on transformation of knowledge, which contributes to quality improvement through validation of nursing interventions. It also focuses on the application of evidence to bedside nursing practice (Stevens, Puga & Low, 2012). In addition, it considers most factors that determine the likelihood of adopting evidence into practice. Moreover, it should be noted that the model can be used in both clinical nursing and educational purposes and can be used by
