. I saw one patient for my preceptor who was a long-time patient at the clinic. It was a difficult session due to the patient being restrictive during interview and not opening up about anything. The patient would not even open up about how his medications was doing. I was feeling defeated and excused myself from the interview room. I went to my preceptor and told her the patient was uncomfortable with me and was guarded to all my questions. My preceptor expected this outcome and stated that she was proud that I was able to decide the patient was not going to open up to me. My preceptor completed the interview with me present and the patient was informative from this point on in the interview, and it help determine that the decrease in his mood stabilizer was ineffective. The dose was ordered back up to previous dosage
