During this second week, you explored the knowledge base and history of social work. We have examined specific social work professions as well as the great strides social workers have made in the U.S. with helping individuals, thus making a difference nationally.

 The human society is unthinkable with the blessed souls who devote their time and life towards the betterment and help of the needy and the sick, to mingle with the very fabric of humanity and empathy, and to render the service for the cause of mankind. Throughout history, the social workers have been the fundamental force of upholding and supporting the downtrodden and the weak in all aspects especially the sick and ailing, the deprived and destitute children. According to the definition, social service can be stated as an obligation or purpose to safeguard as well as promote the welfare of vulnerable individuals including children thereby offering a variety of care services.
