Healthcare-Associated Infections

  In the 21stcentury, there have been significant strives made towards the improvement of healthcare services globally. Governments and administrative bodies have taken initiatives towards the development and delivery of quality health care to all individuals without necessary focusing on their social and wealth levels. Despite their tremendous efforts, there are still various public health issues that have been a significant menace to general health care. From a recent report by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the main public challenge that has been seen to affect health care at a profound level is the rise of health-associated infections (Haque, Sartelli, McKimm & Abu Bakar, 2018). In this paper, there will be a review of the various recommendations that can be offered towards resolving the issue. Definition of Issue Hospitals are meant to give the case to people; however, they may also be the leading cause of which patients may be diagnosed and suffer from a particular illness. In May 2019, the National Center for Health Statistics reported that 13% of the patients in America had been reported to suffer from health-associated infections (Boev & Kiss, 2017). HAI is the process where an individual gets an infection while receiving health care in an institution.
