M1.3 Looking for answers: MAP-IT and your community health priority I currently live in a rural community in north east Missouri. There are self employed people, farmers, Amish and Mennonite, immigrants, and college students of a University and a Osteopathic University. Because of the Universities, the cost of living is higher in the town that I live in than the smaller communities around us. Over the last couple of years there have been Congolese move to the area due to no work in the Congo, that has caused a decrease in their healthcare due to a language barriers and the increase in healthcare costs in America compared to the Congo. I would say that the Healthcare priority in my community would be, health equity. Health equity is defined by the NCCNPHP as, “every person has the opportunity to “attain his or her full health potential” and no one is “disadvantaged from achieving this potential because of social position or other socially determined circumstances.” Though there are several healthcare facilities in the community not everyone has access to healthcare due to; transportation,
