Research Journal 3: Proposing a Research Topic

  
A topic that I am interested in researching is honesty in advertising. I am interested in this topic because advertising is something I see everyday, and something that I think about when purchasing an item with my money. Advertising can be very powerful but also very misleading. I know that most video advertisements present false realities of a product. McDonald’s paints the food that is used in their commercials in order to look tasteful on video. Many times, the “food” presented in commercials is not even real food. I also know the world of modeling within advertisement. Models are constantly photoshopped and edited in order to look perfect in the consumer’s eyes, but it’s not real. I want to learn more about the laws and regulations regarding how truthful companies need to be to their consumers and why they are not more strict. By choosing this topic I may find that it is difficult to research these laws or there may not be a solid stance to argue from. A topic that I am interested in is breastfeeding in public. I am interested in this topic because I am not well educated on it and as a woman, I feel that this topic refers to my rights as an American citizen. I do not know sufficient information on this topic but I am well aware that society does not like the idea of breastfeeding women in public. I have a lot to learn about this topic. I’d like to know what the current laws are about breastfeeding and nudity in public. I’d also like to know more information on breastfeeding and how it is necessary in a pregnant
